Hi all!
A little self-intro - Daryl here, currently a 2yr student, and feel free to guess my age along with Raymond's. ^^( no prizes though). Time sure files, as Alvin has said, and it seemed only like 2 days ago when i entered Tp to study for the first time...

*Note* I won't post any work up cos I haven't done any yet (Heh Heh) and also cos my work is the worst among all the contributors. >.< (Not to mention that I'm a little lazy..) I kinda looked forward to coming back to school. The joy of meeting friends in school again and the horrors of waking up finding that you are late for school. And there you go, the first week of school has just gone by, and it must have been powered by some nuclear rocket cos it sure flew by fast. Blink of an eye and its gone. Woooosh!

Anyways the first week was quite fun for me. Getting to meet friends and catching up with them, not to mention finding old friends who are now freshies and getting the kick out of laughing at them, and how can i forget about the nice "scenery" all around business school? (Muahhahaha!)
Lessons was fun, aside from the fact that i once again forgot to print out lecture notes. (Opps..) Teachers were nice to, getting all sorts of fun teachers to teach you different subjects. Haha! And i finally bought my first textbook in my whole poly life! Wooooo!
*Note to newcomers: Textbooks are a MUST BUY if lecturers asks you to. The reason i did not buy any before was due to the fact that i had short term memory and money loss*
I kind of helped out Miss Natasha as a helper for the most recent Meet the Parents session, and i have to say that i was quite amazed that a lot of parents came. Not sure if this is common but it sure aint common for me. Haha. Thats roughly how i spent my first week. I should stop here before this gets to be a lengthy and boring post. Hope to see all of you around in school! Till next time! ~Daryl~
Hey guys, Alvin check'in! A new Academic Year 08/09 has just started and I am a Senior already... time really flies when we are having fun.

From the previous posts, Alastair and Raymond have shared their views on what have we done and what will you be doing. There might be some changes to the teaching plan but I guess overall its all about the same. Oh, you guys are very lucky to be able to use the new computers for your 3D lessons. We encountered some problems on the older computers as the specs were at the minimum. Since you guys are first to use those new computers, be sure to take care of them and keep the labs clean!

Last semester, we, the 3D students were given 2 assignments to submit for 3D Special Effects. The subject is about using Adobe After Effects and Autodesk MAYA to create effects to enhance an advert or your very own demoreel. A demoreel is basically a visual media portfolio to impress your client or boss more effectively. Alastair has posted his demoreel in his post. Anyway, I have uploaded my Assignment 1 for you guys to take a look and also to promote ONESingapore at the same time. I used Typography and Poverty as my concept with reference from ONE Website. Voices are contributed by my friends. Ms Cherry and Ms Natasha also lent their voices into this ad.

Anyway, for the other 2 specialisations Distributed Multimedia and Edumatics, I think I will leave it to the guys from there to talk about it. In the mean time, ciao!
Yoz... Ray's here... A little introduction of myself, my name is Raymond Gu, now a 3rd year student and also a classmate of Alastair and Alvin... I'm actually much older than the usual age of an average polytechnic student... Graduated from ITE Tampines and went through National Service... So have fun guessing my age bahz... Yup...

So just wanna share abit about our recent 8 days oversea educational trip to Nihon a.k.a. Japan, Tokyo... This trip was organised by our lecturers Miss Cherry and Nami Sensei and it's mainly about visiting companies like Robot Communications Inc, Non-Grid, Kayac, Polygon Pictures Inc and design schools like Digital Hollywood University, Yoyogi Animations School... I must it is really inspiring to meet face to face with those professionals from 3D industry and design industry... It really requires a lot of efforts and passion to reach their kind of standard... So to those who are interested in design, be PREPARE to work hard... Hahaha...

Apart from visiting companies, we also went to some of the place of interest, a little bit of exploring by ourselves, great foods and Disneyland!

Also, I felt this trip acts as a bridge between students from different batches and the lecturers too... It was really fun to get to know each others... Oh ya! We also had a birthday celebration for Miss Cherry and Nami Sensei as their birthday were around there... Here's one of the videos we got... Muahahahaha... ;P

K lahz... I shall stop here... Have fun!

I'm glad to be part of this blog, so as to share the life at TP- IMI, from the perspective of a lecturer. But don't expect me to spill the beans on other lecturers though...

Anyways, after all the hard work for the semester, my care group organised a 3D2N chalet where we had ("tiles") games, pizza and BBQ!!!

It was a good time to catch up with one another, so now we have to gear up for the next semester. I'll be back to teaching Web Design.

Qn: what should the first page of a website be named? _____.html

*prize awaiting
Greetings to all!

This is where we as IMI students make our imagination as inspiration.

We are a bunch of year 2s and year 3s in Temsasek Polytechnic IIT School Diploma in Interactive Media Informatics. This blog will consist of our works, thoughts and complaints(joking!) from school. Please feel free to go ahead and comment on our posts but please do not use our works as yours as it is plagerism.

Just to give a brief introduction of our course. We study website design in year1. Basic photography, CRAP (Consistency, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity) principles, a little of Java programming, logo design and many more.

Once entering year2, you will learn film development like filming, video/audio editing and post editing. You will be briefly exposed to 3D modelling and once you finish the first semester, you will have to choose your majors - Distributed Multimedia, 3D animation and our new major is Edumatics. All 3 majors have their own pros and cons but you will have to decide what you would like to do in the future. That is all for now. Be sure to tune in weekly for our updated posts.

Just to give you an overview of what I've done the past 2 years.

So you've seen what we do, if you are a someone looking to do something fun, interesting and amazing. Do join us! Visit www-iit.tp.edu.sg for more details!

Anyway apart from me, there will be 5 other students and 1 more Lecturer that will be blogging.
I am Alastair from year 3 signing off!

Seeya next time.
