Oh the horrors, term break is over! I hope you guys have finished that nasty stack of homework that were sweetly handed out by the lecturers..

...
Yeah.

Anyway, I was part of the group who went to Ipoh last last week. To those who didn't go.. Man, you guys really missed out big time! So yes, so exciting, haha.

Uhm yes, the starting of school again. I'm quite relieved to have two of my projects done and handed up. Just, you know, two more left. No biggie. Hahah.
To all the freshies: school can be quite a killer. Just so you know. (:

Mmm last week I dropped by CG Overdrive. Got to sneak into half of the conference and also took a look at the digital art stuff. They had a competition for both digital art and animation short film and here's the site for shortlisted and winners. You don't get to see the vids though..

There is really no point for this really random entry, except for the link with the rather impressive digital art... which happens to be profoundly inspiring in a geeky way. Except not quite.
Okay I'm not making sense, enjoy it anyway.
Hey all!

There's this event called CG Overdrive this week from 17th - 20th of June. It is at EXPO Hall 9. Please do make your way down to interact with others and learn more about the 3D and visual effects industry. There will be many companies that will be there recruiting as well as showing off their latest stuff. A few of us will be there as student volunteers. The exhibition is FREE entry so just come down and learn more!

See ya there!

Cheers

Alastair

HEELLLOO!!
Yes yes we're back from the adventure trip, the ever fun and... nvm.
Lemme summarize what we did through the trip. Hm..

Night 1:

9.15 pm - met in school. Got ready to get on the bus.

9.40 pm - Finally got on the bus.

Day 1:

Around 12 am - left Malaysia customs. Went to Yong Peng for toilet break and early supper.
Around 1 am - Left Yong Peng. Headed towards our next toilet break.
Around 6 am - Reached our next toilet break.
Around 6.15 am - Started to go towards the Cave.
Around 8 am - Reached the cave. Started to have breakfast.
Around 8.30 am - waited for the water level in the cave to subside. Played mass checkers while waiting. Fun~
Around 9.20 am - Took group photo.
Around 9.22 am - went into the cave.

In the cave:

Around 9.30 am - shoes became wet, sand in shoes. ouch!
Around 10.00 am - crawled through holes. Whole body became wet.
Around 10.01 am - Became tired.
Around 10.02 am - still crawling through.
Around 10.03 am - became very tired.
Around 10.04 am - came out of the hole. Still tired.
Around 10.30 am - crawled through more holes by this time. Sand still in shoes.
Around 10.45 am - forgot where we went.
Around 11.00 am - Started to climb stairway to heaven. Some of us were really almost going to heaven by this time.
Around 11.10 am - forgot where we went.
Around 11.20 am - started to descend from another big flight of stairs.
Around 11.30 am - walked a bit more to the exit
Around 11.40 am - Ms cherry fell down. ( Don't tell anyone. Shhh.. )
Around 11.45 am - Finally got out of the cave. Sand stuck in shoes.

But overall the caving experience was fun. We actually got to see a lot of nice looking rocks in the shape of many many different things, like hands, statues of goddesses and stuff like that. It was truly a great experience and nice NS training. The cave was super dark, and rocks were everywhere.
Heard that the cave was a little haunted cos many people lost their souls (soles) inside. Haha. There was this part where we had to slide down this 15m rock. It was really fun, almost like sliding down a playground slide only with the danger of breaking your leg of not done properly.

Around 12.00 pm - Started to wash up a bit.
Around 12.15 pm - had lunch.
Around 12.45 pm - Finished lunch. Waited for truck to bring us to water rafting.
Around 1.00 pm - Started to hang around while waiting. Lots of chit chat.
Around 1.15 pm - still chatting.
Around 1.30 pm - started to stone.
Around 1.45 pm - started to chase flies around.
Around 2.00 pm - Truck finally came. Piled into the truck like illegal immigrants.
Around 2.10 pm - Started to play matrix along the way. FUN~
Around 2.20 pm - Reached water rafting.
Around 2.25 pm - was briefed.
Around 2.30 pm - started to body raft down. Water was cold and sand got into shoes again. sigh..
Around 2.45 pm - another briefing
Around 3.00 pm - fun starts! started to raft. YES!
Around 3.30 pm - started seeing people flying out of their rafts.
Around 3.31 pm - started to see people in the water.
Around 3.32 pm - started to save people who are in the water.
Around 3.33 pm - started to see the paddles in the water.
Around 3.34 pm - started to save the paddles.
Around 3.59 pm - reached rest point. started to rest.
Around 4.00 pm - started to get cramps.
Around 4.15 ~ 4.30 pm - started to move out again.
Around 4.45 pm - started to see people fly out again.
Around 5.00 pm - finally reached the end. Went for body rafting.
Around 5.02 pm - screamed in the cold water. Too cold.
Around 5.03 pm - butts got hit against rocks.
Around 5.04 pm - tried it again.
Around 5.05 pm - butts got hit again.
Around 5.06 pm - stopped. went back to the lorry.
Around 5.16 pm - started to play matrix on the way back.
Around 6.00 pm - got back on the bus to bring us back to hotel.

Water rafting was just pure fun (at least for me). Those who missed this trip really missed out on quite a lot of fun. The only drawback is the souvenirs we brought back from rafting. Muscle aches and bruises! heh heh.

Around 7.00 pm - reached hotel.
Around 7.10 pm - went to bathe.
Around 7.45 pm - free time!

Day 2:

Around 8.00 am - wake up
Around 8.20 am - eat
Around 9.00 am - left for hot springs.
Around 10.30 am - reached hot springs
Around 11.00 am - went into cold springs instead.
Around 11.35 am - finally went into hot algae-infested water. cool!
Around 12.10 pm - went to bathe.
Around 12.30 pm - went to eat.
Around 12.45 pm - ordered food
Around 1.00 pm - still waiting for food
Around 1.15 pm - marveled at the portion of the food.
Around 2.00 pm - started to go home.
Around 4.00 pm - reached toilet break.
Around 7.00 pm - reached Yong Peng.
Around 7.15 pm - started to eat dinner.
Around 8.00 pm - started to move to customs.
Around 10.30 pm - reached TP.

Overall i really liked this trip. It was fun and lots of nice things to see in the cave and tire yourselves out in the water rafting. It something you don't get to do everyday so its really worth the time. Strongly recommended to go for those who have not gone yet. haha.

***Pictures wont be up so soon, quickest only by fri. I have no pictures to post because:
1) I don't have a camera
2) So obviously i did not take any pictures
3) I'm lazy to put the pictures up even if i have them
4) I dunno how to post
