A quick post.... are there anyone out there in IND/IMI going for the Adventure Trip?
Can you spot and identify the familiar faces having so much fun? Haha!
*Hint* Open your eyes wider in IIT School...
Yoz... Just wanna share something really cool with everyone - Travertson V-REX, a dream bike... This entry is not just about how cool this bike is, but it's more about how was this bike made REAL! It was first existed only in a 3D rendering and someone else decided to turn this concept into reality!!! I read it from 3D World Magazine, did abit of research and find it really inspiring...
It all started from a lone artist's doodle for a 'futuristic cruiser' and ended up as a real superbike. Tim Cameron started 3D since 1990 with Imagine 1.0 and he has been modelling on what he sketched all these while... His works mainly are motorcycle designs which he hoped a strong interest would keeps him going on and this is how he learnt to model in 3D! He discovered the freedom of being able to 'build what you can think of'' and now, he's using Lightwave 3D together with a rendering plug-in - FPrime...
At the point of time, he was getting bored of the current world's custom motorcycle design... So he decided to go in the other direction and his design ideas are based on aircraft and science fiction and which played a part of having V-Rex as a 'futuristic cruiser'... His style of workflow is very light on sketching and very heavy on modelling... According to him, he has a large directory where he stored all the 3D object files for all of the bikes parts... But for this model, all the parts had to be built from scratch!
His works have received some good publicity and many offers through email from interested parties to build the bike 'for real'... None of them came true until a day, an engineer and former bike racer - Christian Travert emailed him and stated "I can build it!"... And right now, the first five bikes to make it off the Travertson production live are already pre-sold... It is powered by a 1250cc liquid cooled engine delivering 120hp and 74.0ft.lbs at 7000rpm the Tron-likeV-Rex boasts a wheelbase of 79.2in/2010mm and a dry weight of 670lbs/304kg and has a listed price of $39,990...
Now this is what i called "Imagination Meets Inspiration"! Cool huh? Here's a little information about the 3D model... It was completed modelling by March 2004 and consisted of 811, 000 polygons...During April 2004 - May 2004, Tim worked on a virtual 'studio' set-up and render the model which ended up in issue 270 of Ozbike, Australian bike mag, as an eight-page cover story and was picked up by bikes mag all over the world! February 2005, Travert became instantly obsessed with Cameron’s design and sent Tim an email with the subject: 'RE: Dreambike on the streets of America' and stated "I can build it!"...
To be open, weeks ago, i was kinda depressed about my lack of skill on 3D... After reading this article, i felt quite motivated and told myself even though i may not ended up in 3D industry, but at least i will treat 3D as an interest, hobby and passion! Having great interests in 3D doesn't mean that i must work in this line, right?... So, let's just enjoy IT! Yeah! Hahahaha... K lahz... That's all folks!

2 weeks to Term Test
Sorry... Occupation hazzard.
Anyway, after weeks of teaching (and wii party), I've finally sat myself down to update the blog. This bunch of year ones are very spontaneous, only a few times did i have to raise my voice in class... some would retort "only a few times meh?"
The attentive ones... mmm... someone is sleeping.
Introducing the Yr ones 08 cohort

CCN Day
... a time where care groups come together and raise funds through different activities. Well done :)
Now i gotta go back to CSS lecture - the wonders of the internet technologies.
Hey all!
It's week 3 now. School's been alright so far I guess?
Being a year 3, we've to do business electiveS.
Note the S
We've to do proposals and reports. Quite tiring I might say. It is even more tiring than doing 3D itself. I must say though I miss being with my old class. Sure new class means meeting new classmates and making new friends. But its like everyone has a different timetable now so it is quite hard to have lunch or dinner together. Just my thoughts (:
I recently was invited to this event hosted by Autodesk Singapore. In case some of you don't know, Autodesk is the company who made programs like Maya, 3D Studio Max, etc. So anyway, Raymond and I were invited. Raymond burnt a copy of his works to show it to some of the big 'players' that will be attending the event. This event however was just to show about the new stuff in Maya 2008 Extension 2 and 3D Studio Max 2009. It was mostly for networking and meeting new people in the 3D industry. Playware - a 3D game company was there as well. Raymond showed his works and we learnt a lot from the big guys.
I guess nothing's much now. I've just been given a new project to deal with. This term is actually more exciting than I thought.
Sadly I don't have photos to post up. I'll catch up with you guys soon!
Cheers!

Hello guys, the name is Shavonne, currently a year 2 student from C170.
I'm the designer of this uh, rather problematic blogskin (which might be edited in the not-so-near future) and also.. aka your granny. Don't bother asking why I'm using that username though, I have no idea either. Haha, it just.. came along when I started blogging.
Anyway not to digress, the first year has honestly passed by really fast. In fact, I'm actually still in the oh-wow-im-year-2 state.
Heh. But yeah, now that I'm no longer part of the younger bunch around school, not every eyecandy is gonna be older than me, drats. LOL.
Uh, okay back to the point. Haha.
If you ask me, doing well in school can come by three ways. Either you can have wonderful time management, or you're an owl who only konks out after 3am (like me). The other way of course, is that you're just darn annoying smart la,which is just.. annoying. And unfair.
Hahaha.
Still, it's important to like what you study, especially if you are taking up a CCA.
I'm part of TP's squash team so sometimes after trainings, which kills, it takes a little more then just willpower to do your work.
You must have the..you know.. passion!
Okay that sounded real tacky, but you get what I mean.
But of course, it's just as important to really want to do well cause you can't possibly like everything the school throws in your face. Just be willing to work hard, attend the lectures even if they are so terribly boring, do a little extra research and yadda and you'll do just fine.
So yes, if you work hard and have time management, juggling both CCA and schoolwork shouldnt be a problem.
Having a CCA is definitely fun la, kinda gives you at least a social life in school. Haha but before joining one do consider well and hard, cause leaving a cca halfway has a way of making you feel rather guilty. Yup.
Anyway, ever since school started, most of my concentration had gone to the squash recruitment. To be honest, it was really fustrating, darn time consuming and quite so annoying at times. But yeah, thank God it's gonna be over soon.
The classes itself had been all quite interesting really, especially the 3D class. I have a feeling the chaotic parts are just round the corners though. Hahaha. But, one day at a time! (:
Btw, I still have my prsp book. Somebody? Anybody? Anyone? 25 bucks only! Cheap sia!
